Baseboards & Trim Installation

Trim is the part of the job people actually look at. A floor can be installed perfectly and still read as unfinished if the perimeter is gapped, the corners do not close or the thresholds are the wrong height.

Floating floors need an expansion gap at every wall, and that gap has to be covered. New baseboard is the cleanest solution; quarter-round or shoe molding against existing baseboard is the faster and less disruptive one. Both are legitimate — the choice usually comes down to the condition of the existing trim and whether the walls are being painted.

Where the new floor meets tile, carpet, a balcony slider or an entry door, a transition profile handles the height change. Getting that height right matters more in condos, where door swings and elevator thresholds leave little margin.

We miter corners, fill nail holes and caulk the top edge so the trim is ready for paint. If your painter is following us, we hand over a surface that does not need rework first.
