Cleared and prepared concrete floor area ready for a new flooring installation

Most flooring replacements start with demolition. Tile and thinset, glued-down vinyl, tired carpet and worn laminate all come out before anything new goes in — and how well that is done decides how the finished floor looks.

Removal is dusty, heavy work. We plan containment and haul-away up front, protect the areas we're passing through, and keep the site walkable while the job runs.

Once the old floor is out, the slab gets attention: leftover adhesive or thinset ground back, low spots patched, high spots flattened, and moisture checked before the new material is scheduled. If we find something unexpected under the old floor, you hear about it before we keep going.

FAQ

Floor Removal & Prep questions

Do you handle the debris?
Yes. Removal, haul-away and clean-down can be part of the scope. We confirm it in writing with the estimate so there's no question about who is disposing of the old material.
Can the new floor go over my existing tile instead?
Sometimes. It depends on the tile's condition, the height it adds at doors and thresholds, and the material being installed. We look at it on site and tell you honestly which option makes more sense.
How messy is tile removal?
Tile demo creates dust and noise. We plan protection for adjacent rooms and pathways, and in condos we schedule around building rules for work hours and elevator use.
