Glue-Down Flooring Installation

Full-spread adhesive installation for a solid, quiet floor — often the right call for large open areas and commercial traffic.

A glue-down floor is bonded directly to the subfloor with full-spread adhesive. Nothing moves independently, so the floor feels solid and quiet, and there are no hollow spots when you walk across a large room.

In South Florida most homes and condos sit on a concrete slab, which makes glue-down a natural fit. It also removes the height a floating system adds, which matters at door swings, elevator thresholds and existing tile transitions.

The work happens before the adhesive does: cleaning the slab down to a sound surface, grinding or patching high and low spots, and checking moisture. Adhesive is selected for the specific material and substrate rather than whatever is on the truck.

What's included

  • Full-spread adhesive over concrete slabs
  • Moisture testing and slab leveling before bonding
  • Recommended adhesive matched to the material and substrate
  • Solid underfoot feel with no hollow sound

Where it works

Suitable applications

  • Large open living areas where a floating floor would sound hollow
  • Condos and buildings with height or sound requirements
  • Offices, retail and other commercial spaces with rolling loads
  • Rooms where an existing tile or terrazzo slab has been ground flat

FAQ

Glue-Down questions

Is glue-down better than floating for a condo?
It often is, because it adds less height at thresholds and transmits less impact sound. Some buildings also specify a sound rating for the assembly. We check the building's requirements before recommending a method.
Does the slab have to be perfectly flat?
It has to be flat within the tolerance the material's manufacturer specifies. Where it isn't, we grind high spots and patch low spots as part of prep — that step is included in the written scope.
How long before I can walk on a glue-down floor?
It depends on the adhesive and the material. We tell you the cure and traffic times for your specific product when we confirm the scope, so you can plan furniture and move-in.
